Our Kinda Town.....
Yes, Chicago is definitely our kinda town, but I'll spare you the obvious music link here! After an excellent flight we landed at 1:15pm and despite seeing plenty of snow over Canada and the Great Lakes, we arrived to clear sunny weather. Running the gauntlet of US Immigration was surprisingly pleasant (and quick!) and after a short taxi ride (with a driver who uttered not a single word!) we arrived at the airport hotel....great for plane spotting! Actually, the hotel is really nice!! I guess that's all for now....we're here and raring to pick up the car tomorrow, when we set sail in an easterly direction towards Washington DC, a distance of around 650 miles! (If you're wondering....'yes' its pretty exciting, and oh yes, thanks to all of you who are taking time out to read the blog and for your supportive comments!) The story continues!!

Good stuff. I like O'Hare and Chicago centre. Home of Lollapalooza in August. If you go due east the pics should tell a story. The rust belt has felt the worst of the recession, and Dayton Ohio appears to have the cheapest houses in the US. But it's real US, not tourist, which is great. It always feels like home.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you both arrived safe and sound !
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic trip we will be following your blog
