Bryce Canyon rocks!!
With the sun shining and clear blue skies we struck out early to reach the furthest accessible point in Bryce Canyon National Park......as it can get kinda congested in there! We managed to get ahead of the crowds and joined those who were already there in stopping at every pull-out to 'Oooo' and 'Ahaaa' at every view. Quite simply, for anyone who believe in a 'Creator' they must surely agree that he put Bryce Canyon together once he'd got his eye in! The landscape is mind-blowing in its vastness, at one point you can see clear across from the Canyon (in Utah) to the North Rim country of Arizona, and with New Mexico in the distance....that's a big vista! Its similar to watching an IMAX screening for the first time!! No apologies for including a number of photos of the place, even though they just can't begin to do it justice....its scale and colours ranging from coral pinks to the deep green of its plant life are incredible. Is it any wonder that its called "Inspiration Point"! (You can also throw in the Elk and other wildlife for good measure!) But all good things etc! We started our journey south towards Lake Powell and Page (Arizona) where we're staying overnight. On route, we pulled off to see a 'Western Movie Set' museum in the neat little town of Kenab and then Glen Canyon Dam, to admire this remarkable feat of engineering. We discovered that we'd regained the hour's time difference sacrificed the day before and it felt good to be in the heart of Cowboy country again! Finally, I struggled to think of a music track for today, but 'Steve' came to my rescue with the following suggestion....filmed in Utah!!
