Lots of 'rock'...but it ain't Blackpool!!

Before leaving Flagstaff we Skyped our fair Jenny and had a short but very enjoyable chat with our first-born. (Still trying to make inter-planetary contact with the 'son & heir!) Thereafter, we saddled-up and hit the 89A South, bound ultimately for Scottsdale (Phoenix) via some interesting stops. First we returned to Sedona, to verify that its actually as good as we originally thought.....it is!
We skipped the Historic Old Town and made instead for the outlying State Park areas, to gaze at the mesmerising rock formations, wander through lush greenery ('yes'.....in the desert!) and admire gently flowing rivers.
They say that Sedona is the focal point of a spiritual vortex and one could easily become a believer! The old enemy 'time' forced us to escape Sedona's pull and we headed further South, to Prescott.
As it transpires, this historic old town (once the capital of Arizona and home to Barry Goldwater's family) was not as impressive as our previous findings, but I would definitely re-visit it, given more time. Our stop was made memorable however by a chance meeting with two entrepreneurial 'East-Coast-City' sisters who having retired from nursing, moved to Arizona and promptly became a little bored......so they decided to create a healthy dessert business. In effect, they went to school to learn how to make yoghurt and established a serve-yourself yoghurt and toppings business.....the brand (which they also franchise) is "Eat smart at Yogartz"! Now where else would this happen!! Leaving Prescott we hit a lot of traffic around Phoenix, but soon found our hotel...which is fab and within walking distance of an "Olive Garden".....we really are in 'Sun and Cactus' country! I don't know why, but this 'one hit wonder' was rolling around in my head today and it seem to fit with the heat around here and some of the crazy people!
