You only get what you pay for!
Believe me the days of a free lunch in Vegas are long past and you literally pay extra for anything that moves! For instance, whilst having to pay a $20 (+ tax) per day 'resort charge' at the Mirage, its 'Dolphin Experience' is not covered in this, and even touching the mini-bar would result in all hell breaking loose! (The Mirage is not unusual in this respect.) Nevertheless, there is plenty of free sunshine to look forward to here. This morning we made full use of it, walking down to the Stratosphere Tower and a little way beyond to the cheesy wedding chapels. We soon reached a point where we began to feel that we were a little 'out of our depth' and jumped on the 'Deuce' bus, a cool drop on and off transport system for tourists. We made our way south to the MGM Grand and explored some of Vegas' grander hotels. Its strange that as spectacularly unique each hotel is on the outside, they are all mundanely similar inside.....like many 'Trafford Retail Malls' each with lots of accommodation and gambling machines. The Strip is always busy with ordinary people from around the globe looking for or pretending to be extraordinary.....and as for the real 'high rollers', well you just don't see them! Whatever my personal feelings are about Vegas, there really is only one track to play today....and this one's for you Dave!
