Busy doing nothing......
Well its sure hot down here and how quickly one adjusts to the natural pace.....in order to survive! It was always destined to be hot today, so we drove down to the Old Town (Artisans) area of Tucson, parked-up, and searched-out 'coffee'. In fact we stumbled upon the Coffee Shop in the courtyard of the Artisans sector, immediately reminiscent of a spot in Old Albuquerque.....laid-back, running water, music, shade and lots of plants......in short, idyllic! We ordered coffee and bagels, both 'the best', and chatted at length with Jo and Rebecca who were 'running the show' and who gave us some tips for other things to see in the Tucson area. Eventually, we dragged ourselves away from 'Eden' and meandered through the nearby arts and crafts shops, before taking-in some of the local Public buildings and artwork. Next, we toured around the newly restored 'Presidio', a stockade established by the Spanish and Mexicans on a site once inhabited by Native Americans. Here we met some really nice people who we chatted to for quite some time....and then it was back to our favourite local watering hole for more coffee! By now the temperature had soared and we decided to seek refuge in the air conditioned sanctuary of the local cinema.....we saw "Super 8". It was OK....not great......but the air conditioning was spot on! As for today's music posting, well we're in the Southwest......an that's good enough for me to play something from "ZZ"....

Good to see Gabrielle Giffords recovering. I didn't know this before I looked her up, but she's a member of the Blue Dog Democrats who sit on the right of the party. Pics from her birthday last week show her looking good, but still very frail. We can delude ourselves that the NHS is the best in the world, but it isn't. PS The outdoor coffee shop looks just wonderful.
