Heading west!

An early morning stroll, breakfast at the Red Hut, followed by a provisions and gas stop at Safeways ..... and then out on Highway 50, heading for Santa Rosa. Initially passing through mountain country, we eventually ran into the Napa wine region, where the scenery changed markedly. Evergreen forests were replaced by rolling golden grassland, interspersed with quality vineyards and olive groves. The only downbeat was the traffic, which was heavy all the way. Probably unsurprising since we passed through Sacramento and were heading in the general direction of San Francisco and Los Angeles! Nevertheless, having taken only a single coffee stop, we arrived at the chic Azura Hotel around 2:00pm. Having quickly settled-in, we did our first laundry run of the trip, at 'Laundry World' ..... a coin-less laundry! (Wow, that's progress!!) Back to base and a quick call to Sirius XM; the good news is that they happily refreshed the radio signal, for free. The bad news? We still can't get a signal!! (Watch this space!) Early evening, we walked to Downtown Santa Rosa, a very pleasant space, reminiscent of Sacramento, and with visible reminders of the cartoon creations of a long standing resident, 'Shultz'.
Fortune guided us to the Third Street Brewery .... great fish'n chips and craft IPAs (including Puddle Jumper!)
In the absence of Sirius XM, my musical treat for today is that sprung to mind from a couple of days ago (or decades... The Doors and 'Light my Fire':
