Route 1

A misty morning and the chance to take a long and eerie walk around the Headland State Park road, which leads back into downtown Mendocino. A quick breakfast and we were back on the road again, soon heading South on Highway 1, the twisting, scenic, road that snakes down the California coast. The mist cleared as we drove further south and at last, the sun appeared. Making good time we arrived in Bodega Bay around midday and found our overnight lodging 'The Bodega Bay Inn'.

Our room was still being prepared, so we walked down to the nearby marina and then up to a neat little cafe where we had salad and fries, al fresco! Returning to the Inn, we unpacked, did some Skyping, and generally settled in. A quiet but pleasant day with a very memorable drive. In the evening we visited Terrapin Creek, an excellent eating place where we had the home made pasta, which was memorable! A short post today (Internet problems!) but a musical reminder from The Loving Spoonful:'s 'Do you believe in Magic':
