Hello, hello, hello.....!

Despite seeing our first overcast morning of the trip, it was good to see yesterday's car problems behind us.....well that is until getting a text message warning of a potentially fraudulent credit card charge, which proved to be a false alarm! Anyway, after contacting the credit card company, the car hire company, and enjoying a Skype session with Jenny and Dave (and just where are the garage keys!!?) we tootled down to Main Street, Sheridan......in the new car! Its fair to say that there wasn't a lot of troops on the ground, but that was OK. We stumbled over "Over the Moon Java", a really cool coffee haven with very nice baristers, not least 'Phil', who's definitely made of the 'right stuff' and whom we'd be more than happy to see again if he gets his a** into gear and visits the UK. (Keep 'living the dream man'!!) After elevens's, we explored Main Street, taking in the shops and in particular "Kings Rope & Saddle Emporium".....what a place! This retail outlet, complete with free museum (visited by the Queen in 1984!) reflects the 'real deal' Western way-of-life.......yes, Cowboys are for real around here! We talked at length to a guy whose grandfather had emigrated to the area from Liverpool 'back in the day', and who recalled the family tradition of Sunday roasts. Just about everyone says 'Hello' here! After Main Street, we headed for Sheridan's lovely park and fell into conversation with a local 'Fire Crew' and an ex-pat who was tending the park gardens (who had been over here for twenty-five years). By now the sun was in full swing and we dropped-into the local 'Art Deco' Chevy dealership and weighed-up a cool 'Corvette'! What next? Well, we plumped for the cinema.....a traditional small town theatre with an excellent sound system and great seating.....and what did we see? "Snow White and the Huntsman"! Emerging from darkness on a sunny evening we headed for "Oliver's" (on Phil's advice) for dinner......Phil was right again!! What can I say? A good day........and we have Sirius-XM again!!!! So here's a Manc-Band track for Phil.....
