Back in LA!
The temperature was moving towards the nineties as we prepared to pull-out of Big Island. Dropping the car off at Alamo we were once again impressed by the super-efficiency with the process of returning cars is handled here. Shuttled to the airport we were taken aback by its quaintness ... the only air conditioning was in the small restaurant and the gate seating areas were al fresco! Nevertheless, the areas were sheltered from the sun and a pleasant ocean breeze kept us cool. The flight was both on time and full, and passed quickly. This was helped by being seated next to some interesting people and having a decent in-flight film, 'The Intern-ship' (Pat was unfortunately sat behind someone resembling the Jolly Green Giant, who couldn't sit still!!)Landing in LA at 9:20pm, we picked-up our fourth car in less than two weeks and headed for the hotel via the infamous '405'! Another chapter of the journey begins tomorrow!
