Island Hop!

It was sad to be leaving Maui, but our time there was up and we were scheduled to fly-out to Kono (Big Island) for the next phase of our trip. Needless to say it was sunny and warm as we breakfasted al fresco. Time for a final stroll around the Old Gaol and surrounding historic district and then, bags packed, we were airport bound. We dropped the car off and got through check-in and security without a hitch. The airport is a quint place ..... a bit hot and the gate crew didn't have the aid of a microphone to communicated boarding arrangements! We had been asked at check-in if we wanted to upgrade our seating, which seemed a little rich given a flight time of thirty minutes! It has to be said that I was impressed that in the limited flying time available, we were served a drink and given a free map! Landing in Kono we collected the car in minutes and set off for our 'Condo with Ocean View'! The latter looks a little tired, but you can see the ocean and it does have everything we need .... except the internet access is of dubious quality!! Having stocked-up with provisions at a local grocery store we ate dinner at Bubba Gumps, sat out on the veranda overlooking the ocean, at sunset. First impressions of the island, which has a much more volcanic look to it, are favourable!
