Fargo!!

Today was the day! Four hours driving northwards from Minneapolis via the neat little town of Freeport (of German heritage, comprising 380 families and Charley's diner) we arrived at Fargo, North Dakota .... a first, for us. We checked into the Radisson, an old style hotel in the city centre with very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It was hot and sunny as we headed for Main Street and ambled around its trendy shops and eateries, and nicely refurbished cinema. We spotted the Toasted Frog and decided to call in for a drink ..... home made lemonade and Fargo IPA. This place is is a must! On the way back to our hotel, we met a group of people who were putting together an ad hoc week-long musical jamming event. Wow!! Actually a very nice bunch of people. After cooling off for an hour or so, we headed back along Main Street for dinner at the Toasted Frog. The food was excellent and the place was busy, as there were several live events on around town.We walked around the centre for a while and noted the friendly people and general cleanliness of Fargo, before joining a long que for some excellent icecream!! Fargo was a real surprise .... a clean, friendly, prosperous looking place with the look and feel of a classic American town. I feel that tourism will grow here.

Although in no way related to Fargo, we heard the following recored ob SirusXM, on our way up here!
