Back to the Future!

From the outset it was clear that today would be hot and it was, unseasonably so. But it was time to hit the road again, too, and after loading up with supplies, we drove down to Sausalito. Despite the Labor Day weekend arts festival, we managed to find a parking space downtown and spent a couple of hours admiring the local shops and the San Francisco city-scape.
We also took some time out to meander through the assembly of vintage cars, assembled by local owners who regularly meet for 'cars and coffee' mornings. Nice!!
When we returned to our car, it was already on the warm side so, with air con engaged, we set off for what should have been a two hour drive to Monterey. However, it was a public holiday weekend and we were driving south along the California coast! So, of course, we encountered the age old and seemingly universal hazard of motoring on a public holiday ...... endless crawling traffic! Eventually, almost two hours longer than anticipated, we arrived at our three-night-stay Shangri la, the Comfort Inn Sea View. As expected, check-in went smoothly. our room was nice, and we were soon off to the nearby Del Monte Mall, to escape the heat in the cinema (to see the film Dunkirk). On our way, however, we had a chance meeting with Denise and Carol, who were sat in Carol's $95K Tesla RV waggon, at a free Tesla charging point, waiting for a charging cycle to finish. Surprisingly, the opened the rear gull-wing doors and invited us to sit on the car and proceeded to show us how everything operated ...... sensational!
Mind you, I guess the car sells itself, if you get free lifetime charging, low interest finance, and the ability to write off substantial cost agianst your tax bill! I want one!! After our brief glimpse into the future and , courtesey of the film, we revisited the California Kitchen for dinner and then retreated to the Comfort Inn. Today's musical interlude is a considered reflection of the 60's, the Young Bloods 'Come on people'
