Another Pleasant Valley Sunday......

I have to own-up to having a soft spot for California, being raised on US TV programmes....sand, rolling waves, trees, and the threat of sunshine! This morning, after watching ManU (and the maintenance guy fix the hair-dryer!) we went to the nearby National Parks Redwood Centre where we met Brad and Kareen who gave us some great tips for the day, and for our journey south tomorrow.
Taking their advice and having already picked up a picnic from Safeway (using my Clubcard again!) we set out to drive the wonderful twisting gravel road through the Jedediah Smith Park.
What a great drive through a magnificent forrest.....and I spotted one of the woodland folk standing by a tree!
Emerging onto the '199' we stopped to eat at the Park Information Centre. When we arrived we had the place to ourselves, but once seated at a picnic table, a flotilla of RV's arrived with occupants of a similar mind to us. They were the real deal though...portable barbecues and enough food for a three course banquet! Of all the tables available, they chose to establish base-camp on the next table and duly 'fired-up'! When we left, they relocated to the table where we had been sitting and moved the already lit barbecues to it.....some people can be a little too precious! Anyway we headed-off for a pleasant walk along Enderts Beach, as Brad had wisely recommended....then moving on to Crescent Beach Overlook where we enjoyed a fabulous view of the ocean and had fun chatting with a lovely couple who we met there. (Good luck with the fishing1) Driving through that narrow, twisting, pot-holed road this morning we heard the following track, which I just had to post!
