Our dinner at the Glacier Brewery last evening surpassed expectations and boy does it get busy! We both had the 'Rotisserie Ribs' and if you're ever passing this way, I heartily recommend them (along with the draught pale ale!!) This morning we left Anchorage behind, heading south along the magnificent Seward Highway, one of only thirteen officially designated scenic driving routes in the USA. Every turn presents something new and memorable, passing through mountains, fjords, and forests and surrounded by wildlife! We made several stops to take-in the views and scrambled down embankments to photograph still-frozen lakes. Arriving in Seward around midday we were immediately struck by its picturesque setting. We're staying at the Holiday Inn, overlooking the harbour.....our boarding point for tomorrow's wildlife boat cruise. We took time out to walk the town and stopped off at the very cool 'Smoke House' for coffee and a smoked chicken sandwich. The Smoke House is in fact an old Alaska Railway rail-car where soul food is served daily to the sound of non-stop rock music!
.....so I had to pick a piece of music that played whilst we were eating......
