Having interrogated Jen and Dave on Skype first thing, we picked-up a picnic lunch from a local supermarket and took-off south for Denali National Park. Fortunately, we had good day to see Mount McKinley.....which usually likes to shroud itself in cloud! The drive gave us an insight into the scale of Alaska.....big skies, huge horizons, and solitude! After two hours we entered Denali and began a thirty-mile self-drive through stunning landscapes to an incredible vista of mountains and frozen waters. People and vehicles are a rarity! Late afternoon we retraced our steps and located our hotel (The lovely Nord Haven) which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. We hit on the 49th State Brewery for dinner........what a find! Parking among the fir trees, we walked through the al fresco eating area (bonfire blazing!) and entered a sports bar with atmosphere......not a place for dressing-up! Great drinks, mountain men, and some of the best (and definitely biggest!)burgers I've tackled! As for 'music'....well, I'm going for a long-standing favourite that was playing in the 49th State!
Great pics. Musically, Big Country perhaps?

I'm off to a meeting. Think I'll wear my trapper hat.
