Job done!
Following an early start and views of the picturesque lake at Cedar Point, we set off on the second leg of our push to Washington (and after seeing ManU concede a penalty in their match against West Ham!). We passed Cleveland, which boasts the excellent Rock'n Roll 'Hall of Fame', but a downtown that gives the impression that the local population have all 'gone for lunch'! We rolled through vast wooded landscapes, interspersed with further evidence of 'fall out' from the economic recession. (Driving passed Youngstown listening to Bruce Springsteen felt pleasantly strange.) We encountered a little snow on the journey through Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, but nothing to get too excited about! We eventually settled for the night in a Best Western in Hagerston, a small town near Washington. But what musical link sprung to mind today? Well, actually, I decided on the following number by Snow Patrol, as it reminded me of my fellow Red Army comrades and today's 'big result'....this one's for you Ken!!

Good stuff. Small town America is just great. Slow pace, very little trouble, no cameras, small businesses and no parking wardens. I was staying at the University of New Hampshire in Durham NH in 2004. On a couple of occasions I saw a cop get off his Harley and direct traffic around minor obstructions - repairers patching a hole on the road, and a graduation ceremony. Here? We've got equality and diversity officers. As you're posting music, it seemed fitting to post a musical reply. This is Mitch Benn, better known as Ask Elvis in the Steve Wright Show.
