The Times they are a Changing!

Today it rained, but hey we're in New York and we hail from Manchester! Before the heavens opened we made our way on the Path train to 14th Street and then by foot to an access point the the High Line, an inner city conservation park founded on an old overhead railway track which allows people to stroll in peace above (literally!) the traffic.

The High Line sits easily alongside the now 'fashionably cool' Meat Packing district and after dropping back down to '14th', we mingled alongside the local hipsters until we found Chelsea Market.

This was a real find, brimming with fabulous food and produce shops.

Oh yes, we've picked up that apart from Wall Street, where 'suits' are the norm, its cool to look a little 'creased' in New York! (Which suits us!!) With the weather worsening we decided that discretion was the better part of valour and made it to a cinema where we saw "Hannah"......what can I say? It was dry, at least!! As for today's music link well its got to be upbeat despite the weather, especially as ManU won!!

  1. Your first photo reminds me of Hopper’s ‘Early Sunday Morning’ (1930)
