We had an unexpected treat today, driving to Bodega Bay and northwards along Route 1 towards Mendocino. The weather was beautiful in Santa Rosa, but nearing the Bay area, things started to get a little misty. Not an unusual occurrence in this area. We were confident that the mist would clear and indeed it did .... one minute there, the next, gone. We stopped at Bodega Headland and walked along the fishing jetty which juts out into the ocean. When we reached its end, we met some crazy Americans who were well into there seventies. One couple had been zip-lining in the nearby redwood forest, yesterday. The other three, one of whom was blind, had sailed up the sixty miles of coast from San Francisco in 'Black Note', a small sail boat which they owned!!
From there, we drove to the Bodega Bay Pier for coffee and then on to Jenning and beyond. The ocean views were stunning.
At For Wragg we turned about and headed back, stopping briefly on Bodega Highway, to rephotograph the schoolhouse building and church, made famous in the film 'The Birds'. a good way to pass on some time.
And today's unusual musical tribute is by Ronnie and the Daytonas"Little GTO"
