Whale watching!

Whenever we can go whale watching, we do, and today was no exception. We took the 9:00 am sail on the Black Fin from Fisherman's Wharf, probably the most professional outfit, as it has marine biologists to provide expert commentary. The trip was around four hours duration and having undertaken it previously, We always admire the optimism of those drinking and eating whilst waiting to board. To be fair, the ocean was pretty calm today, but there was sufficiant pitching and rolling to winkle out the bad sailors! The stern area soon became a sick bay, literally! On the positive side, there were pleasenter scenes for keen observers and apart from sea lions and otters, we saw pods of large dolphins and a number of humpback whales.
Unfortunately, no blue whales, today. We met a really nice couple form Leiscestershire on the boat. Trev was worried about potential seasickness, but it was his wife who succumbed! Back on terra firma we walked to an uber trendy bakery for lunch. We ordered a cheese board which comprised soft cheese, a few croutons, six almong nuts, a spot of honey, and some plum chutney. I passed! By now, a few clouds had bubbled up, so we retreated to the cinema and caught 'The Goldfinch'!

A fairly obvious musical choice today, The Beach Boys "Sloop John B"
