Went for a drive!

We had a long drive planned today to take us from Morro Bay to Shelter Island, San Diego. Before setting off, I walked down to 'the rock' in the bay and was surprised to find that dozens of people had beaten me there, either to board fishing charter boats or to go surfing! Its was already warm and the usual morning mist had gone missing. Since the only breakfast option at  the Sea Air Inn was 'go and buy one', we walked to a nearby eatery and ordered cheese omelets, which of course came with proper hash browns and a stack of toast. Needless to say, we couldn't finish it. Then 'off'! The journey began well enough, but reaching Santa Barbara, traffic began to build. By the time we hit LA, we were trapped in a good old fashioned traffic jam. We travelled on the infamous 405 S and was briefly redirected on the fast moving '73' toll road, before joining what can only be described as an I5 rolling road block. Whatever time we'd made up earlier, was lost and then some. All in all, not a drive for the feint hearted! But we arrived at Shelter Island at check in time and we have a lovely room!

Only one fitting musical choice today ..... Kraftwerk and Autobahn!
