A Walk in the Park...........

The sun put his hat on for our final day Uptown!

Walking through Times Square and on to Grand Central Station we stopped for coffee in Bryant Square and pushed-on through Park/Madison Avenue territory to Central Station. Its magnificent.....we took a look at the famous Oyster Bar (where filming was taking place!) and visited the Campbell Apartment which is a swanky cocktail bar, but once served as an actual apartment!

Midday, and we strolled up to and around Central Park until 4:30pm when we met-up with Pam and Keith in in Strawberry Fields (close to the Dakota Building) for another fabulous guided tour and dinner.

Our tour covered Radio City, Carnegie Hall, The Rockefeller Centre and the Performing Arts Centre..........plus a host of locations used in some of our favourite films! We also saw the Art College where Pam (and Edward Hopper) studied art! Later, we ate in Keith's favourite tourist-free Steak restaurant, the walls of which are lined with clay pipes donated by previous distinguished diners. It also stocks an incredible range of fine malts.........which we had to sample! The food was good and the company excellent!! Riding the Path Train back to New Jersey we reflected on a great stay in this great city! As for a music link, well I could choose a Jazz track, reflecting some of the music played in Central Park today, or maybe a track by 'Jimmi' that I also heard playing there....what do you think?

  1. No brainer really. Great tune, reminds me of living at 4 Delauneys Road as it was always on the player when I was there. Nice pic of him too.
